If you cut & paste quotes or pre-written Facebook status updates that are longer than two lines in length, you’ve probably noticed that they tend to show up erratically formatted with unattractive line breaks when you try to post them.
Mild example below.
I know what you’re thinking.
“Bunmi, that isn’t a big deal. I have bigger things to worry about than ugly line breaks.”
You are the problem with youth today- shoddy workmanship. Just kidding! Kind of. If someone is signing a paycheck for you every month they deserve to have the job done right. Clients do check their pages and your work is a reflection of your commitment to excellence. In this economy, fabulous work is more important than ever. Go the extra mile and take 4.5 seconds to improve your long status updates without having to type them out manually.
Whenever I’m posting a status update that is longer than one sentence, I copy and paste the text into my HootSuite window and then cut and paste it back into the Facebook status area. For some magical reason this eliminates line chops. Perhaps there other ways to do this but if you’re managing multiple fan page accounts you probably use HootSuite often and may find this convenient.
Excellence is in the details. Give attention to the details and excellence will come. -Perry Paxton
