Method
Social media has changed the conversation between companies and consumers. While I do some consulting, the bulk of my day to day work is actually carrying out the new media needs of my clients.
I operate under the following principles:
1. Giving must be an integral part of every company’s social media strategy. Prospective customers must see value in participating in any campaign.
2. You can’t buy friends offline, and you can’t do it online either.
3. Bloggers are people, too and deserve respect and consideration. If you wouldn’t send a form email to your a friend, don’t send one to a blogger who can change the way your company is perceived before thousands with one fell blog post.
4. Know whose house you’re in. The rules of Facebook aren’t the same as the rules of Twitter. Behave appropriately.
5. Just like with any good campaign, new media can generate measurable results.
6. You are not a robot. Never sound like one! Social media is about conversation, not putting out monologues.
7. It’s my job to find out what makes your business unique and find the perfect audience of potential customers for you to work with.
8. It’s not enough to tweet and Facebook on your own. Join a circle.
